1901 census has lost my grandfather but might have found me a new relative in bancory terhan a alexander mackenzie age 62 was a solicitor so was my grandfather james john who was about 39 at the time, with 2 or three children he married a isabel hunter in 1901 after his first wife died.they married in aberdeen. how do I find the connection with alexander he wasnt his father .

how do you know they are connected - are you just going on the fact that they have the same surname and were both solicitors? But you would have to get Alistair's birth cert and see who his parents were and trace your grandfather's parents too to see if there is a link. nell
