That would probably be her as she was baptised at Silkstone Church. Funnily enough shes not given her birthplace as Silkstone before, but it is still probably her! Afterall... that surname is pretty sparse in the Barnsley area and most of the people I've found so far have been my family! Thank you so much for that Jeanette! Is it possible to have an image so I can print it out and add it to my folder? thanks again Sarah

Sorry, she was born in Barnsley, and no I'm afraid I don't! I know she wasn't living with either of her sons at the time as I have both of them in 1871 and I think her daughter had died by 1871 so I doubt she'd be with her. She's sometimes listed under Scarf or Scaife, if that helps!

I'm trying to find ELizabeth Scarfe b. abt 1807 in Barnsley. I have her in 1841, 1851, 1861, and 1881 (she died in 1891 just days before the census!). She's never at the same address twice, but in 1861 she was living in Rich Lane, Barnsley and in 1881 she was living in Westgate, Barnsley. She is a widow and I would be interested to see who she was living with in 1871. Thank you Jeanette.

Well I can see places like Bradford, Shelley, Slaithwaite etc so I'm assuming it is. Anything I can look for for you? Jeanette x

Has the West Riding of Yorkshire 1871 census been added to ancestry yet? Last I heard it wasn't on there.
