You might be able to trace preliminary info on this site: http://www.gazettes-online.*co.uk (remove *) assuming you can get in. I've not had any trouble before and found references to the commencement of the RAF careers of both my father and brother in the London Gazette, but it seems to be throwing a wobbly today. Christine |
