There is a William Hurtley aged 55, born in Yorkshire, living in Lancs and working as a boot & shoemaker. Wife is different though. Perhaps he married more than once. Good luck. Hi i have in 1881 William Hurtly 65 york,york, shoemaker mary hurtly wife 59 Aldborough york living at 15 st clements place york, st marys bishopshill snr york england. Then for 1871 i have William Hartley 50 baildon yorkshire mary Hartley 49 Baildon york, do you think these people are one and the same and was William in 1871 listed as a shoemaker, i was hopeing i had found my great grandfather as he was a william hurtly and described as a master clogger shoemaker etc, please can anyone help me further in 1871, thanks jackie
