Hi Crista, Mike thinks India refers to the company, have looked on that site and haven't found anything and I think I've just missed him on the American census and they return just before the next. Will keep looking and thanks for your help Elaine

Hi Elaine, I would say have you tried www.ellisisland.org but the records only cover 1892 to 1924. They must have left sometime between 1884 and 1890. Unfortunately, there is very little of the US 1890 census available and I can't find them on the 1900. The 1901 census says Thomas was a weaver of Indian elastic. Crista

Am looking for help or advice on my rels who I believe went to America for a short time. I can find them in the 1881 and 1901 English census, 1901 reads Ethel M Moore 11 birthplace USA American British Subject Frederick H Moore 16 birthplace Leicester England Mary C Moore 52 birthplace Thurmaston Leicester England Thomas Moore 53 birthplace Whitwick Leicester England The only mistake on the 1901 census is that it should have read Mary E Moore. Thomas was an elastic web weaver if someone could tell me what that was and any help/advice finding them would be appreciated as this is all I have to go on. Any Moore's out there I am related to?
