I have had so much help from kind genes members thought i would share this with you all incase you did not know. Go to PERSON SEARCH on 1901 census website. Type in NAME,SURNAME,AGE AND PLACE BORN. CLICK ON SEARCH. Find the person on the list that you are looking for: Put the arrow/hand on part that says IMAGE. At the very bottom of the screen will be an ID number. This is the ID number for the household. WRITE THIS NUMBER DOWN AND THE PARISH THEY ARE LIVING IN. Go back to PERSON SEARCH Just put in SURNAME and name of PARISH (in place keyword box)and FEMALE. Click on SEARCH As long as there are not too many people with the same surname in that particular parish a list of females should come up. go through each one in turn by putting the arrow/hand on IMAGE and look to see if the ID number matches the one you wrote down. If it does that female lives in that house. Once you have found all the females you can go back to PERSON SEARCH and do the same with Males. With a bit of luck you can match a whole family living at the house. The only information it does'nt give you is Address, Relationship and any other surnames in the household. The only drawback using this method is 1901 census people change the ID numbers nearly every day so you have to search the household all at the same time. GOOD LUCK ALYSON

Hi Alyson There is an excellent piece of free software available that makes this all a lot easier to do. It's called the "1901 census decoder" and can be downloaded free at http://www.censusdecoder(.)com . The software enables you to sort your search results by page ID, then export them to a spreadsheet, etc. Richard
