my gran was brought up with her grandma from the age of 8-15 when sadly her grandma passed away...as my gran was born in 1929 that gave me the rough yr of 1944..cannot find the death,have searched four whole yrs on 1837...looking for Ellen Haynes,died in barnsley or bradford so i am told.can anyone advise me to where else i can look that wnt cost me a fortune please.x

Hi, The GRO index is the only way I know of - but it is available in fiche form for nothing in larger libraries, record offices and LDS centres. Gwynne

I had a look the Yorkshire BMD site http://www.yorkshirebmd.org.uk but there aren't any transcribed deaths later than 1887 - or not yet, anyway. Christine
