You may be lucky. On my Great Grandfatherx2 it showed his fathers name and occupation in the Parish register (1813). I think its a case of how conscientious the village vicar was.

Not at that date. If you were VERY lucky and the parties were under age and marrying by licence, the allegation might survive, naming parents or guardians, but that has to be rare. B

Could anyone tell me if i was to order a copy of a family marriage: Thomas Nield to Alice Lomas 29th Aug 1830. Manchester Cathedral. Would the information carry the Fathers names as a marriage certificate would? Regards Jonathan
