Just visited the ccleaner site; it is not for Mac. I have an imac. My time has speeded up 300% though and all's well at the moment so maybe it really is magic !! Thankyou again, Teresa

Thankyou for your reply. I haven't managed to go to the cclean site yet but when I came on site just now it seemed to whiz!! Is it magic? I'll get to try again later so will let you know Thankyou Teresa.

Yes, I blessed the invention of "System Restore" Christine!

I reckon a rule of thumb is that, if you get as far as asking if you should do a back-up, the answer must be YES. If you don't need a back-up, you haven't lost anything by having one. If you do need one and didn't make one... (Doesn't bear thinking about!) Christine

Errm, not sure about that one I think I just click exit. But Im not a techno wizard, if you think its best then do the back up. I suppose thats incase you remove something you want back.

There is an options tab I seem to remember. It comes up with a list of sites which you can click on the arrow icon to move to the right hand side under allowed cookies.

Well, I think the site is very slow whatever you have - Ive got the fastest Wanadoo broadband and I still sit here some evenings thinking I shall die before I find my ancestors. If its a case of cleaning up your pc to make it a quicker generally, I have downloaded the following program and its brilliant: http://www(.)ccleaner(.)com/ Remove the brackets when you put in the address. The download is free and is at the bottom left hand side of the page. It clears all the old bits of progs you have deleted and the cookies you cant do manually. I have mine set to clean every time I boot up. Remember to use the options tab to keep the "good" cookies like your passwords for this site. Let me know how it goes.

I'm finding it increasingly difficult to make this site work at any sort of speed. It takes about 5 to 10 minutes to turn a page ! I have a phone up connection as we can't get broadband up here. Nor can I use the new "Onspeed" on my system. Any new tips would be very much appreciated. Thankyou, Teresa.
