According to streetmap uk co, there are several Woottons in various counties, but I think it most likely that your relies would be in Wootton, Staffordshire, which is on the A519 between Newport and Eccleshall. nell

Thanks Christine. I've just typed up a really long message and then it came up with an error and lost it all! Typical Could some kind soul have a look at an 1871 census page for me please? William Wheeldon, 71, Staffs (should be Whieldon) I thought this showed him living in Croxden but is it in fact Wootton? This is somewhere I've never heard of but it was also where William states he was born, along with his son Thomas and also his son, next door, Charles. I just feel a bit confused as to where they are living Many Thanks Helen
