Is the 1901 on-line census complete? I have Levi Bridle on the 1881 census, aged 47, but cannot find him in 1901. I've searched 1837 online for his death but have drawn a blank

There is always a possibility he has been left off, or is in hospital where they recorded only initials or he has been mistranscribed. If you give more info about him we can have a look-see for you.

He died sometime between 1881 and 1891. On the 1891 census living Fishpond,Whitchurch we have Elizabeth Levi Head Widow Farmer with children:- Bessie age 17 Julia age 11 May not have registered death - did you check between these years? I can only find one other Levi Bridle who comes anywhere near the age of the bloke dying in 1882 but this Levi Bridle born 1824 in Dorset is alive and kicking on the 1891 census in London. I can only suppose that the age information may have been wrongly transcribed from that death certificate and the only way to sort it out is to send for the certificate. I am of the opinion that this may well be the death details of your Levi as Bridport was the registration area for Whitchurch. But. I COULD be wrong. The decision is yours!
