how to find an actual date????on 1837 online

i believe that i have found my great grandads birth on the 1837 online but only have april,may and june 1905 no exact date is there any way of getting it

Not without sending for the certificate.

Alistar, This is only the indexing so you can buy a certificate, it will take anything from a week, just before christmas is was nearly 4 weeks. If you are looking inScotland its much better, it took only 5 days. I ordered two just after Christmas it said posting date 14th we will see. Irene

Bear in mind that the Mar/Jun/Sep/Dec is the quarter in which the event was registered. Someone born Dec 1880 could well not be registered until Mar quarter 1881. nell

is the info from 1837 enough to order a certificate, all the online forms ask for a date of birth ? Im a bit new to this

alistair if you give the qtr in which is was registered and the year then the volume and page numbers that should be enough to order it with i hope this helps susie

If you go to the GRO website to order it on line for £7 you can just enter the info you get from 1837.
