Peter It's very difficult tracing people in 20th century, I think you just have to trawl through the GRO indexes looking for deaths and then work back from the info on the death certs. You could put a note about descendants of these people getting in touch on the Trying to Find board. nell

Peterkinz Report 11 Jan 2005 23:56

In 1871 Letitia Williams (widow) was living in St Julian St Tenby with her daughters Mary Ann(34), Letitia Frances Emmilene(26) Martha Maria Sarah (23) Ellen(22) and Rose E. Her six sons al appear to have emigrated to New Zealand. In 1901 Martha M S Williams(47) was with her sister Ellen Poole in Wellington, Shrops with Ellen's three sons, Sidney, John and Frank (I have no descendents of the three sons - I need to make contact with living relatives). I have Letitia (with Ellen, Ellens Husband John Poole and the three boys in 1891 in Shropshire) and I have Letitia in 1881 at the Castle Hotel in Admaston. In 1881 I have also found Mary Ann Crame ((36) b Tenby, her Husband Randel Crame and her sister Martha (b Tenby) in 9 Meeting House Lane Camberwell - are these my Mary Ann and Martha???-their ages don't seem to fit! Also in 1881 Rose E is with John and Ellen Poole in Bishops Castle, Shrops. How do I trace them from this to the present day, given that I am on the other side of the world? If anyone can help me find the missing pieces and put them together it would make my day! Peter in auckland NZ
