Ok - this is gonna be long - hope someone can help make it out! On 1871 census James Wilson 72 (head) Ann Wilson 42 (daughter) Emit Wilson 18 (g/daughter) Margaret Wilson 22 (g/daughter) Mary Wilson 6 (daughter) Thomas Wilson 6mnths (g/son) I have managed to trace the future whereabouts of Emit and Mary - but cannot figure out whether who Mary is the daughter of - would it make sense for her to be James' daughter as it states?? Secondly how come Ann's children have the same surname as her father - does that mean she was unmarried?? Also I am assuming Thomas's mother was Margaret - so that would follow that she was also unmarried when she had him - is this likely?? Please help me, Im so confused by it all!!!! Ju x

well i was wondering that too! but it says daughter on the census - do you think its likely that they would have made that mistake? J x

Juliana To save confusion I suggest you remove this thread as you already have the same query on the - the records office board. Then everyone who wants to help will have all the answers everyone else comes up with to save duplication - it will also mean you only have to check one place as well. nell :-)
