They are removed by being in a different generation - so your first cousin's son is your first cousin once removed |

Hi Maggie It means the difference in generations. So one difference in generation would be once removed. Jeanette x |

It refers to the generations so you and your cousins children would be first cousins once removed. Paula |

I understand what 1st, 2nd and 3rd cousins etc. are but can anyone tell me what it means when they're referred to as 'removed', please? Thanks. Maggie |
