Thanks, I believe Alfred is the eldest. On his Birth Cert, his mother's name is given as Elizabeth Price formerly Ladbrook. As for the census, I'll give it another go, however, is is quite possible that they were not born yet. Thanks again. Kylie

Kylie Are his brothers older or younger than him? If they're older, what year was the eldest one born? That should give you an idea of the time frame they may have got married Lou

If your grandfather was born 1926, chances are his parents got married a few years before. I believe FreeBMD only goes up to 1910 at the moment. Have you tried locating them on 1901 census? Also, I'm puzzled - if the birth cert says Price, how do you know the mother's name was Ladbrook? nell

I finally received my grandfather's birth cert today, and now I am trying to locate the marriage of his parents. Albert Thomas PRICE to Elizabeth LADBROOK. My grandfather was born in 1926, West Ham and has 2 brothers, Doug and Ken. I have searched 1837, FreeBMD and Ancestry without success. Rumour has it that Elizabeth was previously married, but on my grandfathers birth cert her name is given as Price!. Although my grandfather was born in Stratford, again rumour has it, Albert was disowned from his family and moved to East London from Wales. Any ideas?
