On the 1901 census, the address appears to be Field Place, Lower Road, Orpington. You can find Lower Road at www.streetmap.*co.uk (remove *) However, whether or not it is the same Lower Road is anyone's guess.

Doreen Rather than "thinking" he was born there - why not find his birth cert to see exactly where he was born. Field Place could mean a street name or an area. I've found nothing by googling. Alternatively, you could contact: The Local Studies Library in Bromley Central Library which offers resources going back hundreds of years, on topics related to the London Borough of Bromley and its environs. It has specialist collections on The Crystal Palace, Walter de la Mare and H.G. Wells. It houses the Archives for the borough. It also has extensive Family History resources. It can answer brief questions and send you short documents by e-mail. Telephone: (44)(0) 20 8461 7170 Fax: 020 8466 7860 E-mail [email protected] Address: High Street, Bromley BR1 1EX nell
