I HAVE A PROBLEM TRYING TO FIND MY BIRTH MOTHERS MARRIED NAME BY HER SECOND MARRIAGE I HAVE LOOKED THROUGH THE CENSUS AS ADVISED BY 2 MEMBERS BUT NO LUCK. MY MUMS MAIDEN NAME WAS HILDA HUMBLE THEN MARRIED MY LATE DAD BEN SHINGLETON IN ABOUT 1938 THEN DIVORCED IN ABOUT 1943/44 ALL I KNOW IS MUM MARRIED A MAN NAMED DAVE IM SORRY MY DATES ARE NOT SPOT ON BUT I WAS ONLY 18mths OLD WHEN MUM AND DAD DIVORCED IF ANYONE COULD HELP ME I WOULD BE MOST GRATEFUL THANK YOU FROM DOREEN PS. WE LIVED IN ST, VINCENTS ROAD, DARTFORD, KENT.

Doreen I dont see how you could have searched census for her, the last one we can view in the 1901. You need to search the 1837online site to search for her remarriage. That will give the reference numbers so that you can apply for the certificate. This is a pay per view site, the only way to do the search for free is to go and search the indexes on microfiche at a main library or county record office http://www.1837online(.)com/Trace2web/ remove the brackets from the address Margaret

Hi Doreen, I found the marriage. Hilda A Shingleton married David A Gibbs in the June quarter of 1945 in Dartford. Ref: 2a 2574 I found the ref for Hilda telling me she married a Gibbs, then cross referenced it with Gibbs, it says David A. married Shingleton or Humble, so definitely the right one Regards Sam
