People in prison and other institututions - workhouses etc should be indexed as normal. You can also search by institution on the 1901 census. But some places - Broadmoor lunatic asylum for example - just lists its inmates by initial. I knew my gt great uncle was there, and found him by using the village he was born in. nell |
