Thank you all for your help. I think I will go to the records office first and start searching! We have a good Local Studies Library in Notts too which I keep meaning to have a look at! Best Wishes! Vikki x

Hi, My Nan was one of 9 of which we only knew of 5. I found the other 4 by listing the dates of the ones i had ( I actually sent for birth certificates) they seemed to have babies every 18 months to 2 years in those days. I looked in FreeBMD for any births in the same area and then if I found any I would look for the deaths. I then looked at the names to see if any were family names. I then took a gamble and sent for birth certificates, I only had 2 wrong ones before I found all 4 missing siblings, I then sent for death certificates to see what they died of. My Nan's name was Kate Maud and she was the youngest, but I actually found one of her sisters with the name of Kate Lizzie, which did throw me a bit as I did not think they would name 2 children Kate, but they quite often named a child after one that had died especially in this case as the Mothers name was Kate so she probably wanted a daughter named after her. Hope this helps. Maggie

Victoria Assuming you know which parish to look in, Nottingham Central Library has all the parish registers. A very friendly place with very helpful staff. Margaret

Assuming you can't find them in the GRO registers, perhaps you could find their baptisms - and if they died young - burials in the parish records which should be in the county records office. My mum told me that her father had twins in the family - but it turned out that it wasn't his siblings, but his father's. nell

My grand-father always told us that he was one of 13 children. I have only just started researching my family tree and unfortunately my g-dad is no longer alive to tell me about them. I have found 9 of the 13 siblings but I can't find any more. No one that fits appears on Free BMD etc. Some older relatives keep mentioning twins called Joey and Jordan who may have died as babies but I cannot find any record of them anywhere. Any tips on where I can look to find Joey and Jordan (2 boys) and the other 2 missing siblings? I'm assuming they weren't still born as the family knew about them and they had names (Joey & Jordan especially). The were all born between 1880 and 1910 in Notttingham. I am not asking for any look-ups, so I won't give you any more info about the family, just advice please. Thanks in advance for any advice! Vikki x
