Hi I was wondering if anyone could tell me if a birth was not registered would it be recorded anywhere else. Because I am looking for 2 girls births and I know they have not been registered. Has anyone ever found a record of a birth that has not been registered. Margaretxx

Hi, If it's before 1930 or so it's likely that they would have been baptised so try local baptism registers. Gwynne

Thank you Gwenneth, I am talking about 1873 and 1874 I know they were not registered because I have been to the records office many times but can't find them. If they were christened where would I look for the record their not the LDS site. Margaretx

Margaret If you post some details then maybe some people may be able to assist. It may be that they have been mistranscribed. Karen

When you say records office do you mean the central one, or a local one? What names and places and dates do you have for us to look? nell

Hi, Baptism records are held in the county record office so you can search for them there. Gwynne
