Will have a look at this site since my father was brought up in a cottage home. Just to say that since I knew the area, managed to get in touch with their archives. At Medway they will do a free 20 min search. They did this and have found him on a register long with a newspaper article re home. This they are sending me for £5. So it is really worth contacting the local SS dept. though not all do a free search. Cheers |
