Anybody know of a site that lists common (and perhaps also not so common) occupations from 'back then'? One of my people was a 'whitesmith' but I've no idea what that might be? The opposite of blacksmith? Meaning? Haven't a clue! Any help greatly appreciated. ~Sharon |

I just put this in Google..... Webster's 1913 Dictionary Definition: \White"smith`\, n. 1. One who works in tinned or galvanized iron, or white iron; a tinsmith. 2. A worker in iron who finishes or polishes the work, in distinction from one who forges it. Andrea :o) |
