I've done a lot of successful research on my family but one branch emigrated to Seville and Cadiz in Spain in the mid-1850's and stayed until around 1900. I've obtained many of the certificates from the Overseas/Consulate Registers but I really need to look at the Censuses for say 1861, 1871, 1881 (they are the same years as ours I think) to see if there were additional brothers and sisters I don't know about and just to corroborate what I have already. Have looked at Cyndi's list but that has just sent me down lots of blind alleys. I know where one family lived in Seville and have actually visited the property (although sadly rebuilt in the 1960's). Does anyone know please if old Census records are available in Spain as they are in Britain?
