Could anyone help or give me some advice on where to look? My husbands grandfather John Derrick 1901-1968 changed his name I believe from Whitehouse to Derrick before WW2 due to a family dispute. He lived in the Hywicombe area and married phylis 1905-1989. |

Lorraine people can change their names without any legal procedure - they just let everyone know that they are going to be called Briggs instead of Bloggs or whatever. But, if they change their name by deed poll, you might find info here: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/familyhistory/name/ nell |
