Blimey! Lyla...It looks like you have found the family before!!!!....just maybe!....The 1877 was a marriage of Henry and Elizabeth when they were around 27years old. Looking at what you found.. Henry was 27 in 1881. That makes him 17 in 1871. whooo!!! hoooo!!!! looks like you have found my g/g/grandparents for me!!!!! :))))) The plot thickens..... I've been on this for days!!!! and nights. Maybe I should take some time out to settle the ol brain...It's feeling a little pickled right now. Thankyou so much everyone for your time and kind help. This is a worse addiction than the ciggies....lol A very grateful Gerri xx

Oh wow thanks Lou.. I know that henry and Elizabeth were the same age and on other censurs there is a three year age difference but chilldrens names are the same. They bred like rabbits lol Maybe Henry and Liz were 30 on the 1881 and not 27. On the 1891 they are both 40 instead of 37 and the 1901 only henry there and is 53. (Ithink this should be 50 tho) Same loadsa kids! lol This should keep me busy for more than 5 mins....lol Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Gerri x

Gerri FORD, Henry 1877 March Walsall Staffordshire 6b 757 PILLINER, Elizabeth 1877 March Walsall Staffordshire 6b 757 So, if this is them, either the child's age is wrong on the 1881 census or she was born before they got married or Elizabeth is Henry's 2nd wife and the older 2 kids are from marriage number 1 Lou

Looks like you have a few offers of help already for this one but if you want to have a go yourself at any time, a good way is to have a search on www(.)freebmd(.)rootsweb(.)com. This site is good as it is free to use and has pretty good coverage from 1837 to the early 1900s but it can get very busy and be a bit slow. It's certainly worth a look if you want to check out any births, deaths or marriages as you can search a range of years very easily. Also check out the advice for newbies on the home page of this site. Good luck.

Gerri Mostly you start a year before the child was born (although census info for ages is a bit hit and miss) so in this case you can go by their ages as well. I would check 1875 give or take a acouple of years each way, it's a good starting point. Pat x

Have you tried looking on the 1837 online giving a rough date of 8 years before the 1881 census. You could try asking for an 1871 census check to see if they were married then. If you could give names then some one may be able to do a check for you. Yours miriam abbott

Gerri Post the info you have for the 1881 census (names, ages, birth places etc) and I'll have a look on ancestry for a possible marriage for you. Do you have them on the 1871 census and do you know if the 8 year old is their eldest child? This will help in narrowing down a time frame for marriage Lou
