Hi, Took a £5 subscription on BMD index. Will probably get another one soon when my Roots Magic comes in the post. Since 1837 is down tonight, wondered if some of you would like me to do some look ups for you? Regards Ann

I would be really grateful if you could do a look up for me as my computer won't allow me to use 1837. I'm looking for the birth of William James Albon born c 1889. He could be listed at Albone. Is this enough info? He married a Elisabeth A.S Spicer, known as Annie. kind regards

Hi, Do you think he could have been registered in Chelsea? There is a William James Albon, Jun quarter, 1889, Chelsea, 1a 361. Only looked at a couple of quarters, if you think this is probably wrong let me know and I'll try some more. Do you have his marriage record already? If not I'll be happy to have a look for that for you if you know a rough year Regards Ann

To be honest I'm not sure where he was born. He lived in Shepherd's Bush post WW2. His marriage certificate maybe where I need to start. Assuming his son was born in wedlock, the latest year of his wedding would be 1913 when he would have been ~ 24

I'll try digging around on the 1901 census aswell. If you would like to send me your email address I can send you any possible images. Regards Ann

Hi Ann Thinking more about it - the William James Albon you have found sounds very promising. I could not find any W J Albon(e)s in the 1901 census, but did find a William Albon, aged 11, in an orphanage, possibly born Kensington or Chelsea. I guess this coudl be him. kind regards Denise

There are a lot of William Albons on the 1901. Unfortunately BMD Index on starts at 1940 for marriages. Looks like 1837 is going to be needed. Ann
