The area mentioned by Doreen is called the 7 dials and there is a website for that with history information www.mybrightonandhove.org.uk.seven Good luck Sheila

hi the big cemetry is in bear rd/ hartington rd brighton and is combined with the downs crematorium and its huge, i think most of the burials/cremations are now held there. Alot of my ancestors are there. just along the rd from there is the jewish cemetry which is near coombe rd and in the town centre is st nicholas churchyard cemetry not used for recent burials. i went their in november. hope this helps sandra

Hi, I suggest you contact the Brighton & Hove City Council, who administer the cemeteries in the area. (Google the web-site). They may well be able to tell you where he was buried. I think it may be difficult for you to just wander in the cemetery and hope that you'll come across the gravestone - so many have disappeared over the years. Regards. Mary

Katrina, There is a very large cemetary on the A270 West of Brighton. It spans both sides of the road. The grid reference on Multimap is TQ270050. Good hunting. Steve

Does anyone know where I can locate a cemetary in Brighton where my Great Grandfather could be buried. He was a congregational minister who died aged 88 in 1908. Rev Edward Storrow. Many thanks katrina Australia
