Thanks very much Tina, I wil do this right away. It does look really good, like you say, you don't have to use all the features, Audrey

I use and like Legacy (free version - haven't felt the need to upgrade so far) - I particularly like the reports function. I had a problem with an error (error number 400) which kept making it crash but followed the instructions for this particular error on the Legacy site and now it works perfectly.

Hi Audrey I use Legacy 5, the free downloaded version, and I think it is fantastic. I have tried out the free or trial versions of several programmes and I reckon Legacy is the best and easiest to use. Play around a bit, you can use as many or as few of the features you want, I find it very flexible. With regard to your run-time error message, this is a fault in the downloaded version you have and there is a patch available which will cure it. 1. Note down the error message number next time it comes up. 2. Go back to the website (www.legacyfamilytree*com), on the left hand side of the screen click on "Tech support". 3. At the next screen there is a list of choices under "Online Technical Help", click on the one that says "Online Troubleshooting Help Legacy 5". 4. At the next screen click on "Solutions by Error Number". This produces a page of numbers. 5. Click on the number you have noted down and follow the instructions given to you. You have to download an updated version of one little bit of the programme. Once that is done, your problem will disappear. Hope this helps. It is worth the effort. Tina

Where can you download it?

Is anyone else using thisi for their family tree? It's free to download but seems to have so much content that I think I might stick to my LDS tree, which is very easy to use. Also on Legacy, I get so far then get a notice telling me I have a 'run-time error' whatever that means...any comments? Audrey
