I think they were usually in receipt of parish relief. You could be lucky if you have a pauper family because they often have records kept by the parish as 'Poor Law' papers. Anne |

Someone who has no assetts whatsoever. There were a lot around in the past...if they died without any means they were buried in a paupers grave...usually with other paupers. Church records show details of Paupers graves. |
