Louise I THINK 'brain fever' is what is commonly now known as meningitis. I googled it and it came up with meningitis, encephalitis (water on the brain) etc. Lou

Louise, Try 'googling' it - put inverted commas round it. It worked for me once with a wacky cause of death. Merry Xmas. Jane

on death certifcate from 1880 i have death now a brain fever. does anyone have any idea what it could be. thanks
