why would a child of 1 be down as a boarder on the census of a completely different family seems very odd |

I dont think they are relatives and I dont know whether the parents were working I know the father died when they were young but it seems strange I have found at least 4 of his children all at different addresses during one census 2 listed as servants and 2 as boarders |

It's possible they were acting as a foster family; alternatively maybe the age is incorrect? nell |

Try to trace the mother in the Institutions - such as workhouses/asylums etc |

the age is correct I did not think to look in asylums or workhouses though maybe thats the answer thanks for your replies I wish the telly was more interesting sometimes dont you I eat sleep and talk of nothing else but this my husband thinks I am nuts he cannot understand the interest in dead people at all. What do others Husbands think are they more understanding ? |
