Hi there, I have heard lots of people saying how invaluable Ancestry is - what does the subscription actually include? what records can you look at - are they transcribed or original entries? Thanks for looking at my plea. Regards Julie |

Hi Julie There is census info foe England and Wales - for England this includes 1901 (partially complete), 1891 and 1881 (complete), 1871 (partially completed) and a sample of the 1851 census index. You can view the original images for all except the 1851. There is birth marriage and death information however apparently they use the same database as freebmd so it isn't complete and you can get this info elsewhere for free. You can't view original entries for this. There is also loads of other information, some free and some which requires further payment/subscription (such as the historic newspapers part, you have to pay extra). You are best probably trying it out with the 14 day free trial to see exactly what there is. Hope this helps Sam |
