Desparatly trying to find any relatives from MARAZION, CORNWALL - family surnames are BUNTING, EDDY, HALSE, MITCHELL - Can anyone give any advice on how to find people with these surnames???? Thanks

Juliana You can probably find lots of people with these surnames, but presumably you want to find ones that are related to you. As far as I know the only secure way of doing this is to prove their links to you through certificates and census returns. You can put a message about these names on the Trying to Find board. nell

Esta - Thank you so much for your help!! Going to do some investigating!! Could I be very cheeky and ask if you have any info on a BUNTING who was the Lord Mayor of Stockport. His grandson was born in 1923, so I imagine he was born about 60 years earlier??!! Again thank you so much, Juliana

You could also try the online OPC (online parish clerk) for Marazion. Joy

Julianna, I can check 1901 / 1891 / 1881 / 1871 for you if it would help. It would be easier if you tell me who you're after from 1901 and I can try to trace them back for you. Will have to do it tomorrow so will check back. Esta maybe not 1871 as i don't think it's on ancestry yet !

Esta, Thank you so much for all your help, it really is much appreciated! This is the info I have so far (down to you mostly!!!) MARTHA HALSE (great great grandmother) born 1867 not sure who she was married to or her maiden name as there is no info on the census, she had 4 daughters EDITH MAY, ROSETTA KATIE, MARTHA, WINIFRED. Would love to find out her maiden name so can trace back further! Also on the details you sent me, there were other HALSE, i imagine they could be the relatives of my great great grandfather??!! Also my great grandmother ROSETTA KATIE (b 1891) she married BUNTING (poss WILLIAM) and they had 2 children WILLIAM (b1923) and EDITH. BUNTING's father was the Lord Mayor of Stockport, dont have any other info apart from the fact that family names appear to be GEORGE and SAMUEL??? I know, people have been amazing! Know trying to focus on the BUNTING side, but struggling actually, as I dont know my G grandfather's first name - he was a BUNTING and married ROSETTA KATIE and they had, WILLIAM and EDITH. He orginated from the STOCKPORT area, any suggestions?? Juliana
