Irene, If his army service record still survives it will be held at Kew and has to be searched for. They should give date and place of birth and next of kin. Ian |

Did he survive WW1? If not, he should appear on the CWGC site. You'd possibly get more info there. Christine |

Only the GRO birth indexes, if you can't find it on FreeBMD. You did well to get all that - all I got on the two medal cards I found were the name, regiment and the medals! nell |

I have found a relative on the world war 1 medals list, online at the National Archives. Details given were length of service, medals awarded and the name of the person. I would like to know where this person was born - is there anywhere else I can check? |
