Thanks Sheila and Christine. I go to the search rooms here in Edinburgh at least once a month, but can't find anything. Searching is very difficult on the OPR's as they really don't give much information. There are many Reapers in Banff and I have been in contact with one lady who sent me my G.G. Grandfathers death certificate. Her husband has the name Reaper in his tree. We may be related but can't find the link yet. I would like to think that the info you sent me Sheila is ancestors, but I am not sure. I'll keep searching of course. Thanks again anyway. Linda

Have you tried GRO Scotland's site - Scotlands People: http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk For post-registration info you can get to see images of the actual registration pages. For earlier, parish register, info - I don't know, because I wasn't looking that far back. They have a special offer on at the moment (168-hour continuous validity instead of 48-hour for your 30 credits for £6), although I gather that you can get access as part of Ancestry membership? Otherwise, you might pick up something on the familysearch.org site - in the IGI section, although you need to be wary of (a) mis-transcriptions (but that's always true) (b) records from people's own tree research, rather than from church records. Such submissions could be anything from 0% - 100% accurate, so regard them as interesting possible lines of research, but don't rely on them. good hunting! Christine

I am trying find out some information about my G.G.G. Grandparents. All I know about them is that they were married on 12 December 1813 in Gamrie, Banff. I can't find any dates of birth or death. Their names are Bathia Mavor and James Reaper, both I think from the Banff area. They had three children that I know of James, dob c1820, Elizabeth, dob c1824, Jane, dob c1833, and Barbara, dob c1834. Any help would be appreciated. Linda
