Windermere or even Lake Windermere were in what county in 1901? Anyone out there have any idea how to access any maps?

Thank you, I will try that.

Depending on what you are looking for, and where whoever you are looking for was living at the time, it is possible that they may be in Lancashire. There were two pieces to Lancashire up until a major re-vamp when Westmorland, Cumberland, and the "stray" piece of Lancashire, became Cumbria. I lived for a time about 5 miles from Windermere, and the Lancashire County border was only about 2 miles away. Paul

I forgot to add that Lancashire extended almost to Ambleside on the opposite side to of the Lake to Windermere town. I have also sent you an address direct. Paul
