I have been looking. Louise, but it doesn't help now that Ancestry have taken away most birth places and only left the county!

Not sure that this helps, but I had a look on Lancashire BMD (I am always intrigued by puzzles) and found that they've transcribed marriages (except for St Cuthbert's) but not births or deaths for West Derby. There are a few Edward Tyrer marriages listed but only this matches first names: Lancashire Marriage indexes for the years: 1878 Surname Forename(s) Surname Forename(s) Church / Register Office Registers At Reference TYRER Edward ROSE Mary A Liverpool, St. Peter Liverpool 2122LP/68/283 This would be a bit late for correctness - but, apparently, not unusual. Alternatively, the name combination could be a coincidence. If you do want to pursue it, teh ref will act as a link to an application form, part-completed, for that cert. Christine

Absolutley anything. Best way to find mis-transciptions is by just using first name, place of birth and/or age within 2 years and trawling. Post the details - many hands make light work!!
