Can anyone help. I am trying to find out what happened to my grandmothers brother Arthur Miller, I was always told that he died during WW1, but have been unable to trace him on the commonwealth war graves site, but this morning found him on roll-of-honour under Northamptonshire, but there is 'no further information' after his name. Has anyone got any ideas how else I might be able to trace what happened to him. Thanks Trudy

Trudy Have you tried to see if there are any medal records/details on the National Archives site - it would be useful if you had some idea about a possible regiment. The web page below will take you directly to the search facility (NB remove brackets) http://www.documentsonline(.)nationalarchives(.)gov(.)uk/browse-refine(.)asp?CatID=10&searchType=browserefine&pagenumber=1&query=*&queryType=1 Karen

I am going to do my best to help you find him. What I need is any thing to do with his Army career And I meen any thing As you will be surprised what can lead to a result. Do you know who has his medals . If you can get hold of them or have some one look at the edge his service number will be on them. In the mean time I will keep looking.

Trudi My Grandmother's brother's WW1 death was found on the overseas section on 1837. Have you looked there? Do you know what year he was born and what area they lived in? Lou

Thanks for all the tips, I'll give them a try. Trudy Hi, no luck so far, but I believe he is Private Arthur Miller, 202251, Yorkshire Regiment, killed in action France & Flanders 23/4/1917, but I could do with a next of kin/address to confirm it. Any ideas anyone?

Trudy Have just been onto National Archives site and it looks like there might be a medal card for your Arthur Miller. Web link is below (remove the brackets first) http://www(.)documentsonline(.)nationalarchives(.)gov.uk/details-result.asp?Edoc_Id=4230660&queryType=1&resultcount=9 Details seem to match the ones already provided : Private, Yorkshire Regiment and the no: 202251. Don't know it if is worthwhile looking into it further. Karen
