Electoral Rolls - France

Does anyone know if they have electoral rolls in France and how one goes about accessing them? Regards Margaret

Google France electoral rolls - there are lots of sites. Not sure how you actually get the info though. nell

Electoral rolls in France are held in the Marie (town hall) of each and every village/town. They are held for local,regional, national and European elections. To find somebody you need to know where they have been registered. Registration takes place each year for the next during the month of December. If you are NOT French then you can only register for Local and European elections. Regards Alan

Thank you very much for that Alan. That is good to know. I think we don't realise how lucky we are in Scotland and the rest of the UK as it's so much easier to find people with the fantastic records that we keep and that are available publicly. Regards Margaret
