If you cannot find their marriage on the OPR (Old parish records) on the Scotspeople site, trying both their names) perhaps they may have married by "declaration" this was an old Scots custom and carried out for many years They could declare themselves married in front of witness`s and also a justice of the peace, this marriage would have been recognised as legal, but I don`t think there are records of these |

Have you tryed the Records Office page on this site some one might have the parish records for that area or be able to do a look up for you. But do not let your first flush of sucsess spoil you It wo'nt all be that easy. I have had simerler luck like you but have now hit that Bloody wall every one hits (lol) |

have been very lucky only being doing this for a couple of months and have found the scots people and lds v helpful but now have ground to a brick wall can not find any birth or death records for a Donald MacCallum i no he married Janet Turner 14/2/1789 and eight of their kids but would love to get back further i no that they were married in luss,dunbartonshire,scotland and all the kids were born there to.So if your up for a challenge or any info would be eternally grateful |
