Gwyneth, There was another thread on this a while ago. I've just bumped it up for you. Crista

Has anyone had experience of safely cleaning gravestones, with good results? We went to a grave, from 1912, recently and it was really difficult to read the leaded writing on the marble stone. We scrubbed it with a handbrush and water and it was somewhat better. It was totally neglected for about 80 years until we discovered it. It is tiered style, with lettering on vertical face. I have Googled and read information but wondered if anyone has firsthand experience.
