If you get a birth cert for one of his KNOWN siblings, you will get his parents details.

Hi Susan...Did you see this Richard Thomas Thorne 1868 mar qt Sherborne Somerset 5a 365.If Richard was born Dec. 1867 he probably wasnt registered until 1868.Remember its the registration not the birth on 1837...Margaret

Hi Susan Sorry, i don't have any info for you, just wanted to tell you that Ancestry/FreeBMD/LDS sites are not complete (apologies if you already knew this). It is possible that some of the christenings were on LDS(Family Search) site but the others may have been 'performed' at a different chucrh and therefore the records for that particular charch may not be available online yet. I know that I have a family where of the 10 children, they have been christened at 3 different churches between them. I've been lucky and all 3 of the churches had their records on LDS site but it could explain why you can find some christening records but not others. I can't offer any explanation as to why you can't find them on 1837online though! Sam

I have hit another brick wall! My Ggrandfather is Richard Thorne b1867. He married Sarah Webber in 1896. I have certificate and his fathers name is also Richard but he died before their wedding. I have done some research and found the family on 1871 and 1881 census. His father passed away in 1880 leaving Mary a widow. But my problem is I cant find my Ggrandfathers birth or sarahs. I have been on Ancestery, 1837 and Family Search and Sarahs christening is on the later site and so are Richards brothers and sisters so why isnt his? Where do i go from here? I need certificates to follow the next generation!! Sorry to go on so much but im completely baffled now. Any Advice ? Thanks Sue
