Hello: What is the best way to find immigration info on someone who sailed from Scotland to Pennsylvania ca 1880 (ie before Ellis Island). Looking for info on Walter and Jane Davidson who settled Dunmore, Pa. Many thanks, Gordon

Hello Chloe, Thank you for taking the time to reply. It's not 'our' Walter, I'm afraid, 9 years too early immigrating, and ours was in Lackawanna County, not Alleghany County. But sincere thanks for trying, Gordon.

There was no other Walter around 1880. Lots of stuff on the internet. Try google or Cyndis List. Americans are lucky with their immigration records. My grandmother came over here around 1910 with her parents and siblings, and I have no way of finding out the amount of info at hand to you guys (same with Australians too). Good luck though. Chloe
