Hi can anyone please help me with an occupation i have found on a marriage certificate dated 1852, it looks like "beadle" but am not entirely sure, if anyone could help me decipher this or tell me what it means i'd be really grateful

A beadle is a position in a church.... a minor parish official who serves as an usher and preserves order at services Christine

There are some fairly pompous Beadles who crop up in Dickens' stories! Christine
