I would like to buy a death certificate for someone who died in San Fransisco, Califoria in 1972. Can anyone tell me how I can go about this? Regards Margaret

Hi Margaret, You can use http://www.vitalchek.*com/cainfo.asp but California has some tough regulations. Unless you're a close relative I doubt you'll be able to order it. Crista

I have the same problem, my husbands Uncle died in California in 1966, we wanted his death certificate and his SSI application. You need to be a parent, sibling or child to get them. We were to told to apply and give our reasons and they would decide wether to release the information, that was three months ago and we are still waiting.
