Where can the CD for Pallots Marriage be purchased? Anyone know?

Hi Deborah No, dont worry, I just found out that the marriage isnt my ancestors. Again, the builders have rebuilt this brick wall when I think I have smashed it down> I might have to consider they wed later.

Hi Benjamin, I have a copy of Pallot's on CD. Would you like me to check the names for you?? Debbie

I read that Pallots can be the only way to find out a marriage as some records were damaged or lost since indexing began in 1813. I would think though that the database is 80% reliable though for a London marriage for the period it covers.

The entries I have found on it have all turned out to be correct, but I like any other index it needs to be checked against the original registers as errors can creep in. Having said that I seem to remember reading somewhere that, because it is an index that was made years ago, there are some marriages on there which were taken from registers that have since been damaged or lost. Perhaps someone else knows more about this?

I heard that Pallots Marriage Index 1780-1837 is a very reliable source especially for London, as I think I have found the marriage of my 4xgreat grandparents. I read that it contains nearly all London marriages from that period. I just hope I dont find out otherwise. Anyone else think it is reliable or is it just another pot luck database?
