Thanks Helen That's what I thought, Weymouth is far too east to be in Devon at any time. It must be a mistake. Sandra

I've googled and as far as I can tell Weymouth was always Dorset, so I guess it was just a mistake in the Will. nell

Corfe & Weymouth are in Dorset. I will just see if I can find out about the boundary. nell

Hi I have downloaded a will from one of my ancestors from Documents online (brilliant site) . He is living in Poplar, Parish of St Dunstans. In the will (dated 1795) he leaves £50.00 to pay the wages for his funeral for him to be buried in his home Parish of Corfe, Weymouth, Devon. I thought Weymouth was Dorset! was it ever in Devon? And if it was, when was the boundaries changed? Thanks Sandra
