Alan, US BMD are not indexed on line like the UK. All of the States Vital records department only maintain records of births and deaths from 1906 forward. Prior to that one has to visit a county archive office if there is one. Marriage records can only be obtained from the county in which the person was married. Requests can only be by mail or on site. To obtain any certificate requires providing quite a bit of specific information. There are some BMD's listed on Ancestry. You can check out more on USGENWEB site. |
