A couple of days ago I deleted my tree from the site and then imported my up to date tree, I keep my details in an off line database. It has treated all my info as being new. I have been inundanted with people who may or may not be related. I assume this is because they have been told about new names being added. So it may be worth you doing the same in order to see what response you get.

Sounds like a good idea - as long as you know what you are doing. Dont think I will try it though, the thought of losing the lot doesn't bear thinking about!! I wonder how often people look to see if they have a connection, I do every so often and its surprising what comes up, I think its always worth a quick message to someone if you think there may be a connection, nothing lost if there is not.
